As soon as you want to wear them, you can! I didn't really need them until about 4 1/2 months. If you feel comfortable wearing them now, then go for it! More power to ya! Just keep in mind that, soon enough you won't be able to wear your regular clothes... and you may start to miss them... :)

Hi there fellow pregnant fairy... I am 7 months pregnant and slightly uncomfortable. Well, I still do not wear maternity clothes... I have bought bigger tops and when I cannot wear them buttoned anymore I will go for open tops with something underneath. But in your case wear maternity clothes by all means. Nobody understands that the size of the belly does not matter but how comfortable you are, is of great importance to you. If something is just slightly snugg, it is very irritating cause your belly is sensitive. And there is nothing wrong with wearing the maternity tops - then you dont have to buy later on. AND OF COURSE YOU ARE PROUD TO SHOW OFF YOUR BELLY... all pregnanty woman feel like that... I know I am extremely proud. So, tell that woman to mind her own business... and if she does not have anything positive to say that she should not say anything at all. Good luck on your pregnancy - enjoy every moment!!!

do not buy small maternity clothing it is a waste, you are going to get bigger and then need them even more. I wouldn't suggest wearing the clothing for another 2 to 3 months. When you are getting snug in the pants. They would look funny otherwise. I understand the excitement though. congrats.

mother of 2 with one on the way.

At about 6 weeks my jeans got too tight to wear comfortably. I got one of those Bella Band things and that helped, but I also bought two pairs of maternity pants. I got the kinds with elastic in the waistband, not the full tummy panel. I've been slowly growing into them (I'm 13 wks now). I've been wearing my normal shirts, but they are starting to get too short so I'll have to get some new clothes soon. I think if you will be more comfortable, definitely go for it!

Thats really your choice! I started wearing them even before I was showing because some of them are SO ADORABLE. Its really never too soon, but that is your preference. When you start getting bigger be sure to not wear tight fitting jeans..it could effect circulation. Check out motherhood.com for some cute maternity clothes. They really have a great selection and its not too costly! Best of luck to you and your baby!

It's exciting I know. :) Congrats. If I was you (I did the same thing and loved maternity clothes in the beginning and thought it was the cutest thing in the world) I would wear my regular clothes for as long as humanly possible. LOL Because by the end of your 9 mos you are going to wish that you could be wearing your regular clothes and you're going to be SO SICK of maternity clothes and how frumpy they make you look. You should begin wearing maternity clothing when your pants become uncomfortable and you can't adjust them to make them comfy for you.

You can wear maternity clothes if you want, but I think that people might look at you funny if you tell them you are only 5 weeks. First time prego gals, they don't show for awhile, I was 20 weeks and had an ultrasound, and I still wasn't showing. Everyone shows at different times, but 5 weeks is still really early. I think at 5 weeks the baby is like 3 cm or something, so I wouldn't wear them just yet. But congrats!

I'd hold off.

Not because it matters what other people think, but because before too long you'll be missing the clothes you're wearing now.

Admit it -- you have more non-maternity clothes!

However, it's not too soon to start spreading the news! (And maybe go buy a 'baby on board' T-shirt or somesuch.)

But if you really, really want to break out the maternity stuff, go for it!

I would wait until you start to show a little... if you wear maternity clothes right now, you'll just look like you're fat.. i dont mean that as an insult, its just maternity clothes arent flattering when you're not showing
