Books definitely. There is competition in every field, but the music industry is way too high in my opinion.

You obviously make more money in the music industry but you have to be good and it takes a while to get to that high point where anyone knows who you are. You can make a lot of money easier in the "book" industry because the compition is different. But unless you write the next big harry potter stuff that amount of money doesnt compare to Beyonce's bank account.

It depends on how good they are at either one doesn't it? Both fields are extremely cutthroat. In reality it is probably easier for an author to get published than it is for a band to get signed. Both roads are rough... but talent usually wins out if you don't give up and start selling snow tires.

It really depends on how much they sell like take J.K. Rowling for example she might make more than a music producer but maybe not a singer.<333
