i need to clear my harddrive but i dont have enough money to go to the computer store. how can i clear it?
P.S. i already tried defragment but it didn't work.

please tell me something do you mean you want to empty the complete hard drive ( note : you gonna loose all your data ).
If yes :
Open my computer right click on the drive partion you wanna empty like C or D and click on format. Rest it'll guide you through however after this you woud need your system recovery CD or windows CD to reinstall the OS in case you are planning to clean the C drive or the partition in which your computer os is installed.
If no then click on start click on run & type cleanmgr and go for c drive just click OK twice & it will clean all temp files, cookies and miscelleneous useless dumps.

defragment only move files so that your puter will run faster.. you need to reformat your computer that will clean your files out.. but remember whjen you do you will lose all your files you have on your harddrive..also if you are using wind xp you cant reformat..if it is a aftermarket hd you can make a diag disc from the cd which will have a roformat progam on it
.. the way i did it was to make my main hd the secondary and and my secondary my master then reformat the hd that i made 2ndary ..

you can write zeroes to the drive with the software above but make sure to erase 3 times because impossible to make unrecoverable unless you smash it.

Go to start>programs>accessories>system tools>disk recovery (need disks).
