If they don't find a way of evolving I give them fifty years. As they are already an endangered species, any type of extreme change in their conditions would prove fatal and acertain species extinction. They are a very calm and placid owl, and unlike most other owl species, will not defend their nests. Though they are long-lived in captivity (20+ yrs) their mortality rate in the wild is quite high. As they prefer the shade of old growth trees and the coolness of mountainous land, if Global Warming continues its exponential increase--this would be detrimental indeed to their survival.
