Actually the clock does stop when a quarterback is sacked, as long as it is before the 2 min. warning. It begins again once the official sets the ball. If a sack occurs after the 2 min. warning, the clock keeps running.

no, that is one of the cool things about football, a running clock.
the clock stops under these conditions
1.the end of a quarter, halftime, or regulaton and OT
2.incomplete pass
3.player steps out of bounds
4.injury to a player
5.a timeout is called by a player or team

if the refs want to stop the clock to review a play or spot, they can, but soon as the decison is made the clock will begin again. when a quarterback is sacked, the new play clock will start as soon as the ref blows the whistle. In college football the play clock starts after the first down chains are moved.

No. The clock keeps ticking until:
1) One of the teams calls a timeout
2) One of the offensive players runs out of bounds
3) There is an incomplete pass by the offensive team
