They have a product at the dollar general stores that i found that is called M30 it is a stain remover.. I had a stain on my carpet that i didn't know what it was. I shampooed it and it came back. i scrubbed it out and it came back. i used this stuff straight out of the container and it has been almost a week now and it hasn't come back yet.. so i think i finally got it ..
get a scrub brush and dip it in to the stuff and start scrubbing all different directions on the spot until you can't see the spot any more.. then take a dry towel and rub all of the dirty stuff out of the carpet .. it takes some work but it will get almost any stain out of the carpet for you.
I hope that you can find it some where it is a blessing to have around..

Hi
I would recommended cleaning your carpets and using a disinfectant like Milgo SR (may need to go to a janitorial supply store for this and ask for a disinfectant for carpet) and put it in the rinse water. Deodorizers just cover up the smell for a while and disinfectant kill bacteria in the carpet. I would also wash the walls with this product.

Please DO NOT put anything on the carpet that was not made for carpet

There's no telling how much mold's underneath the carpet and pad. You're probably best off replacing the whole shebang and docking the kid's allowance to pay for it as a preventative measure.

White vinegar, let it on the spot for a while like half an hour then blot up to see how much of it comes up. repeat

I think that Oxy Clean will be your best answer. Just don't mix it in a spray bottle. The chemical reaction will cause the bottle to leak.
