Espana !

why? - because they have a great culture, siestas are great really good for you. Also I like the torreador/ bull fighting thing and street bull running thing. But also the sapnish girls are nice and so are the people generally, plus they know how to party.

Also the spanish language is the next, after english, most widely spoken worldwide and its fairly easy to learn. Finally spain is fairly similar to Britain in that it used to be a great sea faring nation and conquered what we did not of the americas.

France, at the moment, because I just watched Amélie on cable and I'm a bit of a romantic. (Ain't Audrey Tautou just beautiful?)

It'll probably pass, though. At that point I guess I would lean towards someplace on the Mediterranean. I only speak English, though, so it would have to be somewhere just about everyone speaks it, or where the native language will be easy for me to learn, or both.

I'll probably stay here in Virginia, though. If my wife passes before I do I may be tempted to retire back home in New Orleans. It's rather European for an American city, or was last time I was there.

This is a hard question. Each country has its good and bad. I dont know really. Amsterdam would be idle. Marijuana and prostitution is legalised and yet the place is stable. Probably wouldnt want the kids to grow up there. Germany maybe. Have a house in every European Country.

France because I've been there about 5 times and I think I know it really well and like the place.

Then again, a Scandinavian country like Finland, Denmark or Norway would be cool (They seem almost mysterious to me, somehow).

Is Russia part of Europe? If so, I'd like to go there too.

I'd move to Spain, to be more exact to Andalucía.

For me, this region has everything.
Beautiful historical cities, a lovely countryside, great food and drink (tapas! gazpacho! great wine!), pleasant climate (nice and sunny, but still possibilities to go skiiing in the mountains!) good music and an appealing way of life. Besides that I really like the Spanish language.

Finland. In detention at school when I was about 12, we had to sit and copy from the encyclopaedia. By luck, I ended up with F and found Finland, and every day I would pick up where I had left off before.

Since then, Finland has held a special place in my heart and I have kept on learning about it.

I pick Spain. I'm actually going there next summer to study, but that's not my reason. Spanish is my minor in school, I love Europe and I'm interested in Spanish culture and I also have Spanish Moorish ancestry.

Sweden - the swedes just seem so cool and laid back to me. Just wish they could transport Sweden to the south of Europe though for the heat. Don't think I could handle a swedish winter though ! Brrrrr !

The Netherlands because I love being able to cycle safely. Their cycle network is superb, their public transportation is efficient and reasonably priced. The people are wonderful. Every town/village seems to have good sports facilities. Finally the pancakes are fantastic.

Certain parts of Italy, cos of the scenery, atmosphere and the food. It falls down on the super-strong guinness though. Why don't the Europeans stock ordinary guinness? Or have they started to since my last trip to Europe?
