for eg the improper number is 45/7

divide 45 by divisor, D=7: you get quotient,Q = 6 and remainder,R =3

so the mixed number is: Q(R/D) or 6(3/7)

you divide the denamiter into the numerater and you write the number that it goes into then write the extra # that geos in it then you keep the denomanater.
