No I don't think the brand name has any significance. Although I do know in high school it was a big deal to have name brands just for the fact that it created some type of false status. Now a days I can find great garments even at Target! It does not really matter in my opinion on whether it is name brand or just a no namer. If it looks good and the quality is there I will buy it in a heartbeat.

This is absolutely true for many people. If this brand, say, Hollister, is in right now, whatever is at that store is what people assume is hot and they will 'think' they like it. If you go to WalMart and find something almost exactly identicle, of course they will think it is a retarded item of clothing, since it isn't brand name. All people do these days is follow trends. They think that to be cool they have to shop at Hollister and American Eagle and Aeropostale, and all those other stores. But if you really want to stand out in life you have to be yourself and find what you like. Not what everyone else likes. Because, chances are, if you are trying to be cool and you shopped at Hollister and American Eagle for school clothes this year, you have the same pair of jeans, the same sweater, and the same t-shirt that a bunch of other girls (or guys) have, because everyone shops there to be 'cool.' So, the brand name on something definitely changes other people's opinion on a piece of clothing or an accesory, because people want to fit in and be cool. But, if they actually think about it, they really just want to be clones of the popular ones. Now, the brand name does change my opinion, SOMETIMES, but I look for quality, not cool.

Well, to me, a brand name does not represent a status symbol. It represents the quality of the merchandise.

For instance, I have Polo Ponies on my golf shirts. Not because I necessarily want to flaunt how much I paid for it. I would pay the price if the pony was not on there. The shirts wear forever and launder well--keeping their shape and their color.

Sure, they cost double what a cheaper shirt would. But they last 5 times as long. That--to me--is a bargain!

No. I look for well made clothing and accessories and don't look at the brand/designer name until I find something I like. I found out that way I have good taste because 90% of the items I really like are way too expensive.

Yes! It's the quality of the product, that I buy. I'm not a name-brand person always, but it does matter with the important pieces of my wardrobe/accessories.
