I met Steve once through family friends but I would not be so bold as to say we were friends, more like he made me feel like his mate from the moment that I met him. I am still upset about his passing and find myself feeling quite sad when I hear songs from his memorial or when my daughter is watching Steve on television I feel this overwhelming saddness.

Is anyone else still feeling sad about this loss???

Hi..

I never had the pleasure to meet Steve myself.. but I enjoyed his larkinism and he's got such a terrific model family.. it's so sad for them..

As for the question you ask.. well.. for me.. Sudden deaths like Lady Diana, Michael Huchens for example always bring me back.. I even remember the exact thing I was doing when I heard the news.. and it still feels like a loss..

The same will go for Steve Irwin, especially as I no doubt watch Bindi grow to become an incredible young lady and hopefully mother one day herself.. and little Bob become a real croc hunter himself when he grows up.. he already has Steve's cheeky grin..

Not to forget Terri, his american born wife who has been absolutely incredible throughout the ordeal, handled it with near perfect grace I feel..

So yeah.. remembering Steve will always feel a bit sad.. and a sad loss..

I used to watch Crockodile Hunter almost every day. Of cource I'm sad. His show is over. I never had very much attachment to Steve, but I'm sorry about the loss. He was a very good person who loved animals. Ironically, of all the ways people thought he would die, it was a sting ray that killed him.

It was probably awesome to meet him. At least you knew him. People always feel more attachment to people they know (especially relatives). Imagine how it is for his wife and his kids.

The cool thing is though. The show he died on was a show he would be working with his daughter. But how is this cool. The show is still going to go on. But just with Bindi. An Steve has brought changed with conservation, being afraid of animals, and respecting them. But also his legacy is still carried on by his children. Awesome.

I never got a chance to meet him, but just from watching him on the TV he felt like an old friend. I miss him a lot, he was truly an original!

of course i am. you are so lucky you met him. i think that his family is being so brave. my little bro watches his show sometimes and whenever he does, i have to leave the room cuz it's so sad. we know that he went to a better place. him dying did not stop us loving him, although it did delay it for a little while. there are all these beautiful, touching tributes for him on the Internet. God bless all of us!!!

to be honest he brought it on his self because he was invading the animals territory. And now people are killing the sting rays coz of what happened, ITS BANG OUT OF ORDER THEY DONT DESERVE TO BE KILLED.
