Do you want to remember more? How do you open past life records, aka The Akashic Records? Do you know how to read them, interpret them accurately?

From what I've read, the whole point is to IMPROVE your life from one lifetime to the next. And it is the choice of our soul to come back. Example: maybe in a past life we were intentionally cruel to a particular minority. We have the choice to come back as a member of that minority to learn what is involved in living that way. It's all a system of balance. So you CAN remember things from a past life and learn from the mistakes and prejudices from your own past.

Another example: say you have always had, in this lifetime, a fear of deep, dark water. In a past life you may have drowned in the ocean at night. So you now have a chance in this lifetime to overcome that fear and put it behind you so it no longer is a major fear for you.

I've always had a fear of jumping into the deep end of a pool. I took swimming lessons and finally (ta, ta!) jumped off the side of the pool into the deep end...and survived! I felt as though a huge weight had been lifted from me. Turns out, I had been on the "Titanic" and drowned because I was too stubborn/afraid to jump and save my life back when the great liner went down.

And to answer the question: I have very vivid impressions of being a monk in England about the time of the murder of Thomas Becket. I believe I witnessed his murder in Canterbury Cathedral. When I visited that place in 1967, I couldn't stay in the building due to an overwhelming panic attack as I approached the scene of the murder. I actually ran out of there, much to the amazement of the other tour members!

Maybe this all sounds fanciful but, hey, it's one of my past life impressions.

I would LOVE (I think) to access the Akashic Records but don't know if that can be done on one's own or if a "Guide" is required.
Does anyone know for sure?

GREAT question and I'm glad to see people aren't shy about sharing their fascinating stories.

Sorry to rattle on so much.

There are several reasons for which God decided that no individual should remember his/her past lives.
So be happy as you are.Follow the Laws of Good behaviour& reap their sweet fruits in leisure.Forget the past you cant change it ,but you can certainly shape your future with your present actions. So beware of what you are weaving for youself now.

Dont ever think you are clever enough to betray the Laws of Nature, it has its own way of punishing the defaulter.
That would be just a reaction to your action .

Your mom tells you not to touch the barbed fence/wire; but still you do & get electrocuted.Whos responsible for the conscequence of your action you or she?

Who I was in my past life and where I resided. I wouldn't want to know anything more, knowing that I have lived before is all I need to know, that life has ended now its who I am now and this lifetime is whats important. The past is gone one moves on lives this lifetime then it ends and it begins anew in time again. Past life records are just a bunch of writings from one Individuals human mind, no divinity, just words, some words are good, a good majority of these words impede ones progress.

I was four. I woke up with a start, shocked, I had dreamed of me being in large tent in folding chair at a folding desk. and the flaps of the tent, I had them pulled back to see the flags on the flag pole. out side.and there were men in gray uniforms coming in and I had map on the table. and I WAS that man, and that mans consciousness was WAY different from my own little boys mind and I was aware of that. I drew a picture of one of the flags and my parents did nt know what IT was, but a few years later I saw one, It was the battle flag of the south. My brothers son talked with a yankee accent when he first started talking and wonted to know where his other parents were at and especially his brother.Umm. wonder whats going on? reincarnatian? I do not really know. I trust in god.and whatever it is . I still have faith in my god.

You shouldn't be able to remember. That's the whole point. Your past life is 'wiped' like a tape before a new life, otherwise you would have too many confusing thoughts and identity crisis.

When people do remember things its usually because they died young and violently.

Don't trust people who claim to help you remember. They can be charlatans.

We used to play a game called "Faces" in which you turn out the lights and sit in front of a black background with a single candle a few feet in front of you...with your friends sitting across from you watching your face as it seems to change in the flickering candleight. These are supposed to be faces from your past lives and many details can be seen such as facial features, eye color, hair clors, clothing, and eyewear which all seem to appear on the face of the sitter from the view of the audience. Put out a half glass of water for protection before you try this!

I don't think we are dogs in one life, then people, then goats, then cockroaches.... (although I know some cockroaches posing as people in THIS life!!! heh heh)

I do, however, have an inner feeling that reincarnation is the way in which we purify ourselves in order to spend eternity with God.... at that level of purity, or highest vibration.... I'm not concerned with what words you use as to what you might call it..... Purifying meaning, to understand more, to drop judgement, to sustain a state of Unconditional Love.

I believe in an afterlife... and those who have passed can stay there and do their life work for awhile, then perhaps return, for more life lessons.... I sometimes picture a bunch of spirit people (people who have died) sitting around, discussing their life experiences....what went well, what went as planned... and often soul groups work together from one life to the next... some return, some stay there..... some skip a life...

I have met 'soulmates.' I don't necessarily mean in the 'love forever' sense... I mean, people I knew before, and had unfinished business or just another opportunity for their loving assistance.

I can name a good number of people I have met in my life that I've worked with before.... for example, I believe I was good friends with my sister-in-law in the 1800's in this country, and I met my husband because of her. My memories of that life include vivid detail of a large white farmhouse, set back against a hill where a dirt road wound round in front.... and across it, a thin row of trees lined the road, then a field as far as I can see.... I see soldiers, gray and dusty, walking past.... they are tired, there is so much dust kicked up at their passing.... images of that day have been with me since I was very young.

Another time I remember a cottage or hut.... a one-bedroom little home with thatched roof... in a clearing in a forest, near a wide stream that passed near.... I actually know my brother in that time was a good friend from college...

I don't have complete detail, but there are times I know I am doing something I've done before.... it's not deja vu.... it's just a feeling of familiarity that I've come to know as a trigger. I know that I drowned in one life... I am not sure when, and though I am not afraid of water and have been a strong swimmer my whole life, I just know I have.

I've had people talk about Akashic records to me, but I've never been able to figure out how to access them on my own. I am completely interested in my past life, because I believe that adult issues that come from childhood traumas affect us the same way as past lives.... those things are carried forward, sometimes as simply vague emotions or awarenesses.... and can create knee-jerk reactions to things in this life. I love to self-explore. I am interested to know why I am who and how I am.

IS NOT THAT I REMEMBER , I DON'T KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN IS DEEP FEELINGS. I'VE HAD DREAMS ABOUT ME LIVING AT CHURCH AND DEALING WITH PRIESTS THAT WOULD ASK ME TO BE NICE WITH THEM. SO I AM SURE THAT I HAD A CLOSED RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CHURCH. BUT I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WAS MY ROLE.
RIGHT NOW I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION BUT, I BELIEVE IN GOD . IS JUST THE WAY I FEEL. I BELIEVE IN REINCARNATION DEFINITELY.
