1. Pull your bottom lip over the top of your head.
2. Eat a football without chewing. Then pass this hole football
through your a55 at one time.
3. Push a bowling ball through your a55 without lube.
Now take this pain and multiply it by 100 times and then you may come close to the pain of birth.

Having a baby was the worst pain I have ever experienced. It's kinda like getting cramps, but 1000 times worse. I don't think you can compare the pain to anything though. As soon as I saw my baby I completely forgot about the pain I just endoured, and you will too. Just think, women have been having babies for thousands of years, so it isn't that bad, and look at all the women who have more babies after the first one. I want another one even though it hurt, the pain is worth it, believe me.

Starts out slow, but gets painfull quickly, ( for me) It really does feel like massive cramps (and back pain) all over. You can time it though to help concentrate on getting through it. I got an epidural, I was crying with pain before it and by the time the anesthesiologist left I felt just tightening. I was weak, but pain free. I had conversations and played games with my family (husband and mom) Then had a c-section later that night 'cause the baby had problems. I now say that c-sections are the easy way out. I'd prefer them now.
You really do forget the pain. I'm ready to have my second now. (1st is 8 months)
Read up on it so you know in general what to expect. this was the site I used. close to the end of my pregnancy I did the paid membership for a month to watch all the movie clips and read the articles, then canceled. It was VERY worth it!
Good luck!

Oh my goodness!! The pain is like nothing else. Labor pains put my body in shock so bad I was throwing up! I had a 3rd degree episiotomy (cut from hole to hole!) Even with an epidural I felt pain. I cried alot. I couldnt walk for a week. I swore for 3 months I would NEVER have another child. To be honest though. my son is 11 months now and I am begging my husband for another one. I don't really remeber the feel of the pain. I cringe at shots and anything else and everyone is like " you had a baby, this will be nothing!" but you forget. I can't wait for my next kid and I'm thrilled and excited about doing it all over again. Labor pains? what are those? hehehe

Well at first it starts out with your stomach just tightening a little without too much pain but then the contractions start getting worse and it is all over you entire belly, it feels like your whole stomach is just so tight that you can hardly breath, which seems like it can last a life time, then when you start pushing the pain isn't so bad in your stomach anymore cause you are focusing on pushing, when you are pushing it is like your pushing something out that just don't want to come and don't want to fit through that tiny little whole compared to the big head at least, sometimes it burns down their, but once the baby is out it is a huge relief on everything you can breath again and you have a bundle of joy to hold, at least that is what it was like for me.

For me it was very painful in my back, it was a searing pain. The baby coming out in itself wasn't that painful, it was quick and actually felt good in a way. Some women actually have painless or pleasurable births, although this is practically impossible in a hospital environment. I mean, just think about how difficult it would be to enjoy sex if there was some doctor poking at peering at your privates, under bright lights with people yelling directions at you. There are lots of non-risky ways to manage pain (unlike using drugs,) probably the number one thing is to give birth in a non-stressful comfortable environment and get off your back. It is MUCH more painful (and labor takes longer) when you're on your back in bed. Hot water often helps a lot, as does deep meditation (aka 'hypnobirthing'.) You definitely can make it easier or harder depending on the choices you make.

The closest thing to labor is your very worst menstrual cramps, multiplied by 100.

The actual delivery (when you are pushing) hurts like nothing you can imagine or compare to.

However, my doctor told me something that is very true. She said the pushing hurts worse, but actually feels better because you can do something about the pain by pushing against it. She was right.

The good news is you don't think about it, you just get through it. You block out the pain and only remember the good part - like holding your newborn for the first time!

Too have a baby is very painful but it is worth it... It is hard to compare the pain however, it almost like a bad stomach but you feel like you are dying...

I have 3 children and I am pregnant now with my 4th and as you can see it is not so bad because I am doing it for a 4th time...

Completely and utterly, without doubt a horrible painful experience!! All you can hope for is that the labour is short and the birth (all the pushing) is over quickly. Thank goodness for pain relief.

Having said that....its so weird because you are going through such intense pain but just as soon as baby has come out, the pain seems to just disappear and you just feel a little achy and tired.

But the pain of raising them is far worse LOL...

There is really nothing at all to compare it too. It is the worst pain I have ever felt all 3 times and Im pregnant with my 4th now. Think of menstrual cramps times 1000!..lol. The only thing I hear that comes close is if you have ever had a kidney stone attack.

Ok close your mouth very tightly and fill your cheeks fully with air hold for 5-10 minutes you will feel a pressure and stretching sensation in your cheeks and around your lips... The muscles in your cheeks and lips will begin to fatigue and ache... Now every that you are feeling good and sore every 15 seconds blow additional air into your cheeks that's a contraction...

Now take a 4 inch inflatable ball place it in your mouth and expand until it's rock hard.. push the ball out of your mouth with out deflating it at all that's delivery..

Imagine the feeling you now have in your mouth lips and cheeks transfered to the vaginal and abdominal area.. And unlike holding air in your mouth you don't get to volunterrily decide when you have had enough it's a process and you are in it from start to finish no matter how long that takes...
