I believe it's some term to be used instead of depression and suicidal because it sounds dull.

There really isnt such a thing as emo.
i think its just a suicidal state of mind and a style of clothing.
really cute clothes but not emo.
It might just be another version of "goth".
Ohh and people who live by stereotypes, you need to STOP!!!
its wrong and annoooooooying!!!
i'm sick of people calling me emo and gothic because i listen to rock music and dress in dark colors.

My 15 year old daughter told me EMO stood for getting all emotional.

i dont know, i think that it can be hurtful if you use it in a certain way.kids at my skool call me stupid emo and it kinda hurts :(
