black is the absence of all visible colors in the spectrum. White is the presence of all colors in the visible spectrum.

Black is the absence of color, or the complete absorption of light from another source. A black sheet of paper absorbs all visible light, and reflects none back to your eyes, your brain interprets that lack as being the color black.

It depends. If you are talking about projected light, then no every one else is right. Black is the absence of colored light. On the other hand, if you are talking about pigments and dyes, black is all of the colors mixed together. It appears black because it has all colors in it and all the colors of light that strike it are absorbed. In any case, though, it is made up of many colors, so it has a color.

Its a value. Believe it or not black happens naturally when no other colors are present. Meaning no rays off the spectrum. White is all the colors on the spectrum present.
