Hi everyone! My husband and I just been marry for about 6mo. and we started to talked about having a baby next year. I'm in my mid 20s. and my husband in his early 30s. My husband is truthly a family man, I know he will be a great dad. I wanted to have a baby too, but I'm very very nervous, I don't have any siblings so I don't know if I can take good care of a baby, or what to expect. Is it painful when you giving birth? How would I expect to feel when being pregnant? Is it heavy? One thing that I'm really afraid of is not be able to get back in shape like right now. Will you gain major weight after give birth? Also, what nutritions food I should eat besides medications? Do I need to eat all the nutrients food before I try to conceive?
Thanks for any advice!

If your thinking about having a baby and don't know if your ready try babysitting for awhile and remember that it will be 24/7 when you have your own. Giving birth does hurt but the pain goes away and you have a lovely baby. Getting back in shape isn't easy and it is different for everyone. If you have depression you should tell a doctor as post partum is an aspect of pregnancy that is really common. You should be taking a vitamin called Folic Acid now to get your body ready for a baby. The pain of birth goes away, having a child is very rewarding, but mentally draining. You should sit at a park and watch parents interact with their children. Watch the children laugh, but also watch them throw temper tantrums. Maybe offer to babysit a child of a friend, this will allow you to understand how draining and time consuming they would be.

I highly recommend the book "Great Expectations" by Sandy Jones. (What to Expect is an awful book)
