it has nothing to do w/ the network cable unplug message bec ofcourse ethernet cable is not plug to the pc and router coz ur having a wireless connection dont mind that what you need to check are:

>>try deleting cache, cookies and clearing history by going to control panel click on internet options click on del cookies, delete files, clear history then ok...

>>next is try checking CPU usage by right clicking on an empty space on the toolbar then click on task manager under performance tab cpu usage will show and it will be fluctuating just make sure that percent doesnt exceed 6% coz if it does u need to clean up ur laptop...

>>check for electro magnetic interfernce specially that u have a wireless connection...the farther u r from the router the weaker the signal and mostly if there are signal interference like metal, unfiltered fonjacks or devices such as alrm systems/satellite dish...

>>if still everything is okey then still ur getting a very slow connection and the other pc is fast..then that cud already be a spyware issue..it will cause a slow browse and it will redirect u to another websites or u will have a lot of popped up windows on ur screen u need a specialist to get rid of spyware uninstalling it wont be reliable...

To get rid of the message - do a right-click (using the mouse button on the right) on the little icon of 2 computers below the message itself. Select disable (normal left click). this is your LAN connection, so if you ever want to connect using a cable instead of wireless, you will have to enable it again.

Now about your speed, this has nothing to do with having your lan port enabled and could be many things. If you are not running an antivirus, go get a free one like Avast. Let it scan your computer.

After your laptop is clean, get winpatrol installed and look to see what programs automatically startup on their own. Chances are you got a bunch of stuff that runs when you turn on your computer. This can slow you down bunches. Just look through the list and disable anything that you dont want running. If you have more than 20 programs in the startup, try to cut it down. Just make sure you understand what you are disabling. Search for the program by name is you don't know if you need it.

Links to both of these great (and free) programs are below.

Doing those two things will keep you safe and fast on the net! Plus it's a good way to learn more about computers.

The best answer I can give is give up the internet for about 2 days and unplug your cable for internet and try again in 2 days let it have a break.Or take dust off and blow your computer out. Also if that does not work then either replace the cord or see if your cable is still working to your wall jack. Since its a laptop if your not in the direct room something may be blocking the signal threw walls so I would try going in the direct room and seeing if it works then. Thats the best advice I can give.

I take it that you are using a wireless connection which can have interference. Try these 3 steps to make sure you get back up to speed again.
1)Try locating possible devices interfering with your network. There are lots of different types of devices that could be interfering with your network. To list a few, a neighbor's wireless network, microwaves and cordless phones. To determine if any other wireless networks are in your area, download Netstumbler and run it. It will report back any other wireless networks in your range. If there are other networks, make note of what channel they are operating on. If it's operating on channel 6, and you're also on channel 6, you will likely see interference that could result in slow speeds and/or frequent disconnections from your network, so try changing the wireless channel on your network. If you have 2.4 GHz wireless phones in your home, try finding the option to change the wireless channel they operate on. Many 2.4 GHz phones give you this option to lessen interference, but some may still not have that option. The easiest way to tell your (or your neighbor's) wireless phone is interfering with your network is if when the phone rings, you loose connectivity to the wireless network. If yours is the definite cause of your interference, and you can't change the channel, try buying another phone. You can either get one of the newer phones that operate at more than 5 GHz, or go with some older models that operate at 900 MHz. As odd as it may sound, microwaves operate at frequencies very close to 2.4 GHz and can cause interference. Make sure you don't put your AP near a microwave. Make sure you're actually connecting to your network, not your neighbors. Change your SSID to something unique so you never get confused about which network is yours.
2) Run NetStumbler (see link) as mentioned It will report back any other wireless networks in your range.
3) Run Net Meter: (see link) Net Meter monitors traffic of all network connections and displays real-time graphical and numerical data transfer rates. You can see your real-time download and upload rates. You can know how efficient your Internet connection is. Net Meter displays all network activities. You can immediately see if someone is accessing your computer and transferring on LAN or Internet. You also know whether some dangerous or unexpected network activity is occurring while you are online.

What is SSID?
Short for service set identifier, a 32-character unique identifier attached to the header of packets sent over a WLAN that acts as a password when a mobile device tries to connect to the BSS. The SSID differentiates one WLAN from another, so all access points and all devices attempting to connect to a specific WLAN must use the same SSID. A device will not be permitted to join the BSS unless it can provide the unique SSID. Because an SSID can be sniffed in plain text from a packet it does not supply any security to the network.

An SSID is also referred to as a network name because essentially it is a name that identifies a wireless network.
This should tell you if you are connecting to the wireless device or some one elses or if some one is using your wireless connection.

As I havent personally used the software I have mentioned you might want to find alternative's. Again I have provided links for Free Wireless Security Tools. I got the info about looking for interference from Broadband Reports.Com under the question Q: Why is my wireless connection so slow? (see link 4) it goes into alot of detail.

I hope that you could follow that and it helps if not. I hope you get your answers and back up to speed.

well tell me something i belive your laptop is new so it must be wireless ready & since you are talkin about a wireless router @ your home. If your laptop is wireless then its OK to get that message about a netowrk cable is unplugged as your laptop is not hardwired to router but its wireless. For more help we would need to go though Peer to peer troubleshooting like we'll have to find out the services..running .....the wireless transfer speed of the router & the wireless card status on the laptop...which involve a lot of communication. I'll apreciate If you can IM me.... zap_rahul@yahoo.com.

well u see if you have a sony vaio i do the main problem is that the vaio is default set to take full bandwith to your network if you have one because they tend to act like servers and also a cool trick is try to map your network drive and you will see other people that are actually using your computer and that they arent hacking but your vaio itself might go through your firewall anyway try this if you do not have many things installed call sony and tell them to ship ypu a recovery cd and if you have nero do a back up write then turn off your computer and then put the cd1 for recovery in the drive keep tapping f8 and then boot your system on the cd this will take up to 3 hours and then you will freshly start your computer and when it asks you about networking st your computer to the bandwith you want to take from your network this also works with any other computer as long as you have the recovery cd

Spyware is a possiblity, however, I would like to know how far away from the wireless access point you are when browsing the internet. Signal strength gets weaker the further away from the unit you get. How is your signal strength as indicated in the system tray?

you might have spyware. .

if you think so, go to

http://www.techguy.org, click on the upper right or upper left to "register" (in other words, signup, created a login (user name and password). .

then click on "forums" 9upper left, I think). .

and on the forums list, scroll down to the "security" forum, most of the way down the page, click on security, and then click on "create new thread" (or start new thread, whichever it says). . at the top, and post your question in there.

someone will get back to you at some point soon and give you directions, which, if you follow them, they'll help you get rid of any spyware or virus infections you have.

These people do it for free (and a lot of them, that's what they do for a living, too). . and they are excellent.\

good luck and God bless you :D
