Could you be thinking of a movie by Robert Altman called "A Wedding"? Made in 1978 it starred Carol Burnett, Mia Farrow, Howard Duff, Desi Arnaz Jr., Lillian Gish,.....
Really terrific movie.

There are two movies that come to mind, one is with Halle Berry the other I just watched it last night..October 23, 2006...it's a comedy with Carol Burnett and Desi Arnez jr. made in 1978.....

this is an old moviei cnsat think of the main characrters anme right now but she was sloa on knotts Landing later. sorry the movie i am thinking about is called Member of the wedding
