Iodine, which is number 53 on the table is the fourth halogen. Halogens can be found in the second to last column of the periodic table and are flourine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, and astatine. They all have seven valence electrons in thier outermost shell which is what makes them special.

Halogens are the name for the group of elements in group seventeen of the periodic table. (Also the second to last row). Count down four Iodine is the fourth Halogen. Halogen means salt former (look at the formula for table salt NaCl what halogen exsists here?).
