Try to rub the zipper teeth with wax paper. If that doesn't work, the store may either exchange or refund the coat since it's defective.

I have the same problem, and tomorrow, the coat goes back to the store. I won't fix it. If I try and fail, I am out a coat.

See if the material of the coat is inside the zipper part if it is you probably can pull it out.

It is possible. You can take it to a local dry cleaners/alteration shop to see if it can be fixed. If not, they can replace it.
Of course, if you have the receipt, you can try to take it back...

Try rubbing bathroom soap on it, maybe it just needs something
to help it slide. This has worked for me in the past.
