They probably do, but only stupid people are encouraged to buy something that a celebrity promotes. I'm put off products that get promoted by celebrities, especially Pepsi, I'll never drink it again after that ad with Beyonce, Pink, Britney and Enrique. It made me sick.

They probably do for kids, but hopefully adults have a bit more sense than to believe that Jane 'faceliftS' fonder uses that anti ageing cream and Beyonce' Big Weave' Knowles actually uses that hair dye because she's worth it!!

I think there is a certain association which is achieved by celebrity promotion. It does not make you buy the product, but it does associate that celebrity with the product.
It can make a difference by association to your target market.

ohh yaa. people wanna be like that celeb. they're like posers but u cant blame them you know? dude, EVERYONE wants to be a celeb or be LIIKE them thats why people ask celebs to promote their prducts so people can copy them and know that p diddy also uses proactive so they're gunna go ahead and do it too. some products dont neeeds celebs to help them , but the celebs do make a difference. :]
