Because it's easier to be rude online then in person. Because in person there is always the chance your going to get your butt woopped.

well people that are online usually are pissed off from the day or they are shut ins and make meaning out of their life by making other people feel worthless. But not all people are rude... HAVE A NICE DAY :)

People use the anonymity of the Internet to get out their frustrations and hostility on innocent bystanders. They can't do it in everyday life, so they come here to get it all out and make us feel worse in the process.

Simple: They don't have to put down their real names and addresses. Anonymity makes people feel they can get away with antisocial behavior that they would never have the balls to do in person.
