To Give to a Girl: Red Roses with babys breath, jewelery of some kind, and maybe a cute teddy bear that says I Love You!
To Give to a Boy: Some type of Electronic like an MP3 player or tickets to his favorite teams game

spend the day with him/her and show him/her just how much s/he means you to you...gifts are a nice touch....and a surprise is even better...like if it's for a girl tell her to meet at the beach and surpise her with candles burning in a heart shape and you in the middle carring a bouquet of roses

Hmmm....interesting that you'd be thinking of Valentine's day in late October. Just a thought.
Anyway....you might also want to mention if this gift is for a man or woman...and the age. Personally...I ALWAYS give my hubby a new pair of high end sunglasses for V-Day. He doesn't like jewlery...but the Raybans or Oakley's are really appreciated.

A day at a spa, a coupon for a massage, buy them maids for they day or week, flowers delivered to work, I had sexy underwear delivered in a balloon at work before, homemade coupons for sexual favours, massages, foot rubs, back rubs etc.,
overnight stay at a hotel (maybe honeymoon suite).
