I'm afraid today's liberals would. A majority of Americans did not want to enter WWII, but Pearl Harbor convinced most of them that it was necessary. What will it take to wake them up this time if 9/11 wasn't enough?

You’re right. We lost over 20,000 American troops in 39 days on a little island in the Pacific – go see “The Flags of Our Fathers” and remember what we fought for then and now is not so different. Different enemy – in WWII they wore uniforms, today they hide in mosques, in residential neighborhoods, behind women and children. They blow up places of worship, schools, restaurants and buildings filled with innocent people. You libs will never understand what it means to protect and defend our country from the evils that want to destroy it. 9-11 didn’t wake you up – nothing will!

Dba_gregg - We didn't start the war on terrorism either? Remember 9-11, USS Cole, Embassy bombings in Africa, Khobar Towers, the first attack on the WTC. Read the newspapers!
Miraclehand2020 – Liberals teach me to spell? Remember Ebonics!

We didn't start world war II, read a book. The nazi's and japanese did. We did, however, start the Iraq war at a "Time And Place of our choosing" according to the president. Islam terrorist groups are not invading and controlling all of Europe. Comparing these dirty criminals to the nazis shows a great disrespect for those who fought and died to protect europe from their totalitarianism. They knew what a real threat was.

PS: Why aren't you in Iraq right now?

It is funny how hindsight is always 20/20. In the days after 9-11 our country became a plethora of raving lunatics. Not only were we pledging support to our monkey of a commander, but we were also giving our money without question to anyone on the street corner with a fireman’s boot and a sign. We proudly sent our young soldiers halfway across the world to die in the desert in the name of all that was red, white, and blue.
Somehow we ended up in Iraq. “A few weeks,” they said, “and we will leave the banks of the Tigris and Euphrates triumphant!” They promised us we would not have another Vietnam on our hands. For a short period of time, a lot of us forgot that politicians lie. We were still drunk from the fear and anger of 9-11. “Kill them all!” we screamed, while stumbling around looking for a couch to call home. The hangover would rear its ugly head all too soon.

Probably. Think about it: The Japanese fly planes into our boats and kill hundreds of service men. The Muslims fly planes into our landmarks and kill thousands of civilians. Both drag us into a war, and result in deployment of troops. Both instigating parties are barbaric to one group or another( Nazis to the Jews, Muslims to the "infidels," or as we know them, the rest of the world.) The only difference is, the terrorists did worse things to us than the Axis powers ever did. And if the libs are whining about us trying to kill religious fanatics whose faith is to kill people, they'd definitely have a problem with us declaring war on a country that only attacked us.

The insurgents are not after the domination of the world like the Nazis were. They just want to fight for complete control of Iraq.
And Bush and Rumsfeld caused it.

this is quite the same as WWII.... when we were attacked by the Japanese and then had war declared ON US by the Nazis.

we unofficially declared war on Iraq, which never attacked us.
