Well for the direction Bond is going yes. The Broccoli's want to reinvent Bond (like what was recently done with batman) and casting someone totally different in the role is a good start.

As i know it there will be less gadgets (if any) and Bond does get captured and tortured making the character more realistic after all this is his first case as it was in the book. The new films are suppossed to be more true to the books after all in the books Bond was cunning and ruthless a brilliant assassin with a sharp mind, vast intellect and unstoppable determination.....bit of a weakness with the ladies however.

Ian Fleming modeled Bond after himself and over the years Bond has had to modify his apperance due to his occupation as long as the character stays true to the formula set by Fleming (which hasn't been done since the early Connery era) then his shade of hair doesn't matter to this hardcore Bond fan.

I saw the trailer when I went to see The Departed in the weekend, from that I would say he's done a good job. He obviously isn't the legendary James Bond like Peirce Brosnan or Sean Connery were. I don't think Daniel Craig could beat them but the movie looks cool, I might go and see the new one.

I`m a bond fan since thee age of 10 and still loving it 28 years later. There have been good and bad attempts at bond but judging from the trailer this one looks dark, cool, well made and could be a blockbuster. I for one hope so, I believe this one is make or break for the bond machine if it fails bond will be no more, now that would be a sad day for bond fans all over the globe ...... go and kick *** Graig ! I will be there November 17th !!!!!!!!

No, but only because I still picture him in "Enduring Love", a mediocre book which was made into an even worse film. I'm trying to reserve judgement till I see him in the Bond guise.
By the way, the only Bond that's captured my imagination is Piers Brosnan, and no-one could be as good as him.

I think he'll be good. Daniel Craig is a good actor, and has that cold-blooded killer persona as well as being a ladies' man.
I'll give him a shot and see the new Bond.

Yes - I thought he would, and having seen a few trailers and preview clips, I now *know* he's a good Bond.
