I am trying to show what is on one of my monitors over the internet. Right now all I have is Yahoo Messenger and a web cam. I am looking for a better way to do this. I need to be able to send live video. Framerate does not matter as it is a static image that only changes at the most every 45 seconds.

Hi,

StickerCam does exactly this and much much more.. including options to zoom/pan your live desktop, select a window, drag an area, or your entire desktop.

http://www.stickercam.com

Load StickerCam
> Click the Broadcast tab in StickerCam
> In your application (E.g. Yahoo Messenger) select the webcam as WackyB-StickerCam

Now you can hit the screen capture button in StickerCam

Hope this helps :)

Drop me a message online or E-mail if you need more details/help

(StickerCam is not slower, it's designed for use with Yahoo Messenger webcams and so defaults to a slower frame rate to match that used by yahoo (no use sending faster than messenger can) but you can change this default from the drop down selector (fps) Quality of image is determined by the messenger service not the fake webcam software. StickerCam actually includes a high quality digital zoom you can use for all your input sources (AVI Video, image slideshow, even your own physical webcam) using the built-in filters you can actuall improve the quality of transmitted video!)

There are 3 programs available that I know of . . . .

The best one is at http://www.oatmealmedia.net - It will capture any section of your screen (including the whole thing) and play it over your webcam,

The next one is http://www.fakewebcam.com It will play video or an image over your cam, But I don't think it will capture the desktop image for you.

The last one is http://www.stickercam.com It will capture your desktop, and play it over your webcam. It's a little slower than the others and the quality isn't as good because it comes bundled with other stuff.

Hope this helps.

Yes it is possible... There is a Yahoo Web Messenger... Search for it... You will get it on the Yahoo Site itself.
