If you have yahoo email already then it should give you a button to push when you are on the page to change to "yahoo mail beta."
If you do try it and want to go back then at the bottom of the new page there should be another button for you to push to go back to regular.

To answer your question about what it is. It is yahoo email that looks like outlook where you see the heading and the body of email in one window. People are saying it is slower, but you have to judge that for yourself. I had it and went back

Hope that helps.

anything with beta in the title is a trial version. Yahoo are still smoothing out any glitches that may be in the program. I have it and its quite good. it wont be long before it replaces the version you have now, and its free.

It was free download for a short period of time. Sure it will be again. But don't despair you are not missing a thing actually I think it is worse. When deleting junk there is no way to keep it closed before you delete it. Nothing special about it as far as I have seen.

beta.mail.yahoo.com , thats the URL.
Yahoo purchased a startup company "OddPost" to help it stay alive in the Email market. The new interface is similar to what you find it Mircosoft Outlook, though you have to get a little used to it to start appreciating it (god knows I still havent).
They DONT use flash, they use somethng called AJAX.
Personally, I like my old email interface better.

I think they gave out invites for a limited time. It's free, but you had to get an invite. Not sure when they'll be giving those out again.

For what it's worth, you aren't missing much. :)
