With such a young child you should get medical advice. It's not wise to use any over the counter meds.

the best thing you can , for a persistent cold sore ,

is to take your child to the doctor

a little of the right medication
will cure these sores, and can prevent them, from re-occurring.

Be very wary ,of over-the-counter- medication,
you could do more harm than good

I hope the sore is cleared up, very soon poor baby x

Ask the chemist, I wouldn't use anything on a toddler without some kind of medical advice - and chemists are very well trained.

for anyone with cold sores - use your own ear wax, preferably at first sign. For toddlers, very gently obtain earwax on a cotton bud.

vaseline should help. you could also search it. just go quickly to pharcmy and pick something up. i am sure a cold sore will be painful for a toddler to deal with.
