Over time I have seen multiple questions about abortion. Aside from just being political it is also personal, but what I am so curious about is why do people feel they have the right to tell someone else what they can and cannot do to themselves? Are you going to be the one living with the aftermath of that choice? There are obvious risks just like with any surgery but a 1st trimaster abortion is less physically damaging then child birth. Not to mention the countless amounts of children that there are in this country abandoned and neglected. Can you imagine being that child? Or having a parent tell you that if they had the option to get rid of you that they would have? Some people don't deserve to have children and some people aren't ready to... So which is worse ruining multiple lives or ending one before it begins? Why can't we let the people making the decision to have sex make this life changing decision for themselves?

After reading the responces so far I would first like to say even though this is a heated subject please don't start cursing at me. I don't appriciate and you're going to make your point any stronger. There's absolutely no reason to be disrespectful. Secondly, HotMama913, dropping your baby off at a police station or church or adoption agency is abandoning your child.

I 100% agree that it is and should be up to the individual to decide.
abortion is NOT new and adoption does not guarentee a "good life" for the unwanted baby.
I was adopted. I am a mother. I am pro-choice.

I am Pro-Life. I did a huge report on it in school and actually starte crying during it. The weird part about it is I don't know anyone personally that has even had one...it's just something I feel strongly about. I think people have the right to tell someone not to shoot the guy standing next to them...same thing (to me) as having an abortion...MURDER. It's not something they're doing to themselves, it's something they're doing to a human being growing and beginning to feel and experience life. A baby (or fetus if that's what you want to call it) can feel pain early in pregnancy. Imagine someone going in and sticking scissors into your head and sucking your brains outs. Or being burned with saline solution. I have an article about a woman who went to have an abortion by sailne and when they start she felt the baby go nuts and told the "Dr." to stop and she would have the baby. Well she did and the baby was scarred. How awful is that?! Where I live, if you don't want your baby, you can drop it off at the police station or hospital, sad, but it's better then abandoning it or having an abortion. Just give the baby up for adoption if you don't want it. And I know there are exceptions, but there was no physical damage to me when I had my children. Ok, so I gained some weight, big deal. I can lose it. You're right with the statement you made about some people not deserving to have children...ain't that the truth. You have to take tests to drive a vehicle, but to be in charge of another human being you just have to be horny one night and not use protection. In all seriousness, people should have to pass some sort of test in order to be able to have kids. With the "So which is worse ruining multiple lives or ending one before it begins?" question you had, you won't ruin lives if you put the child up for adoption. You'll make life better for someone who couldn't have children. And for the "Why can't we let the people making the decision to have sex make this life changing decision for themselves?" question...Exactly...because it's life changing for that innocent little life growing inside someone's belly. Either he/she will or won't LIVE, who are you to say that little baby should die?!?!

I am totally against it.Its murder and anyone who has an abortion should go to jail for murder because when you kill a person you go to jail.So why not when you kill an innocent life?If somebody didn't want a baby then they shouldn't of had unprotected sex.If I got pregnant and I couldn't take care of the baby i would give the child up for adoption where I know it will at least have a life. Can you imagine not being here if your mother decided she didn't want you? I absolutely couldn't. If somebody wants an abortion, fine. In this world God is still the final decider and theres only 2 ways to go.UP or DOWN.

Abortion is murder. Two consenting adults should have the sense to know that sex leads to children. If you understand this, you have sex at your own risk. If your birth control fails, then that's just the risk you take. I don't understand how people can be so selfish to say they don't want that child. YOU made the decision, don't take it out on an innocent life.

Opinions are like knuckles: everyone has them and they are usually hairy. I used to moderate a HUGE women's site; Three topics were banned: abortion, circumcision and childhood innoculations for obvious reasons. They are moot questions that turn normally nice humans into screaming nasty backbiting bloodthirsty monsters...and now someone WILL make my point and I thank you....

I agree with you - abortions should be legal and safe.

I also think that we need aggressive sexual education to educate people about contraceptives so that abortions are more rare.

I'm for active campaigns such as distribution of free condoms in schools.

Teaching abstinence only is not going to work.

I am pro choice, neither for or against abortion. Each person has the right to do what they think is best for them. it is definitely an individual decision based on their particular circumstances...

its murder plain and simple. And only God has the right to choose life and death..
But no I dont have to live with the decision. But if it is a friend of mine who is considering it, I would have a serious talk with her about it.
