A while ago my girlfriend kissed another guy she had had a crush on before me in a nightclub, when I was away on a trip for the weekend. She was very drunk and regretted it and we have long since made up, things are great between us. The guy now has a long-term girlfriend of his own (all this happened a year ago). Thing is, he won't leave me alone. At first it was just minor things, if we bumped into each other (he always has a gang with him) he'd sneer at me or call me names, trying to provoke me by telling me what he'd done with my girlfriend. I used to just take it on the chin. Then it got to the stage where he'd found out my phone number and started calling me- now he's got to following me in to the toilets at our local night club and laughing and my p*nis with a gaggle of girls he smuggles in (he has a girlfriend but is a real player), throwing stuff at my car and spitting on my housemates if he sees them out- I've been to the police and they said not to bother them. What to do?!

I've never been formally introduced to the guy and know nothing about him apart from his name but he seems to have some unwarranted vendetta against me! He's twice my size and a football fanatic, admittedly he is quite good looking but is a total chauvenist(?).

So what do I do, short of hiring a couple of leg-breakers?! What would you do- seriously?

Well if the police will not help I would think there is two choices if you want it to stop.1 Go away and leave the whole thing in his lap. He wins and you go get a new life. 2. Knock him out. Hurt him bad. Real bad. Like go to jail bad. It all depends on what you want to accomplish and why.

Just step out of the situation and think.
Think. Think. Think. Then react.

If the police won't do anything inform them the situation is no longer tolerable, and that it's their duty to deal with the problem. Otherwise hit the gym in a big way. When he sees a Scott Stiener look-a-like come out he'll back off quickly. When he throws things at your car, with no heart involved and a genuine desire to hurt him you drive at him at high speed. When he realises you are willing to kill him he'll either back off or take the same stance, believe me if was willing to take the same stance he would already be in prison for something. Obviously you won't really be willing to do so but you have to convince him he's playing with fire or he'll get worse.

The gym may be the best bet truthfully. At 17 I got out of a similar problem this way (not so bad by the sounds of it though). I pumped iron 4 hrs a day 5 days a week, after 6 months Superman wouldn't mess with me. If he saw a guy with bowling balls in his bicep's he'll back off before getting hospitalised.

If I were in your situation, I would turn my attention from the thug to the woman. Generally in this situation, if she was "very drunk and regretted it", it's usually a load of ****. People don't want to accept it, but they truly need to inspect every aspect of a situation. For example, if you tell her one of the things that he did to you that she might feel giddy or special over (because he'd be fighting for her, making her get more attention), it will show that her interest also lies with him, and she's a ... well, you get the picture. Play a wise card game instead of being a jackass and you won't go wrong as long as your intentions are correct.

I do want to encourage violence.
But don't fight a physical battle unless you are certain you can win - this is pragmatic. He is a thug with a problem.
Does his girlfiend know/care what he does in the toilets of a nightclub with a gaggle of girls? Let him know that your girlfiend said he was a cr*p kisser, she would have to be drunk and she came back to you not him........... then run.

i have been informed about 10000 situations that i'm no longer a authentic Christian (TM) because my beliefs do not fall in with the extremist social gathering line. I percentage a number of your perspectives. I carry citizenship in an earthly united states (u . s . a . of america). there are countless paths to God. I participate in both Christian and non-Christian rites. i'm no longer frightened of non-Christian impacts. I refuse to apply my faith as an excuse for bigotry and hatred. besides, congratulations for no longer attempting to shove the Divine right into a one-length-suits-all field.

he sounds like a real prick, personally i cant stand boys that carry on like this it is pathetic, he is probably more upset because you are not stooping to his level, maybe ask the police what has to happen before they do do something about it but in the mean time keep a brave face and don't let this kid get you down, what your girlfriend saw in him regardless of his looks is beyond me

You`ve got to stand up to him. He must be getting a reaction from you that`s why he`s doing this. don`t blame your girlfriend for kissing him - the best way to get back at him is to show that this hasn`t rocked you and her at all. Good luck!

Restraining order! Who cares about your pride or being the bigger person when you're dead? This guy might bump into you while he's had a bad day, and who knows what the jerk might do!

Sounds like he's jealous to me. Seriously! I mean think about it .... you got what he obviously wanted and even after she made out with him, she left him to say with you.

Wouldn't you be a little bit jealous if someone else had something you wanted?
