Kathy Reichs is a forensic anthropologist. She is portrayed on the Fox series "Bones". She is also an author. I actually met her in Montreal (I am a French-Canadian born in Montreal) a few years ago for a book signing (Temperance Brennan).

She is the creator of the characters in the Fox series Bones, I believe she wrote several books using the characters, and that is how it turned into a TV show. also the lead character in the show, Temperance Brennan is based on her and some of the work she has done. also to confuse logic, on the show, and one assumes in the books, Temperance is a writer and the lead character in the books she writes, is Kathy Reichs.
