Here's a tutorial for some amazing wings that don't look too difficult: http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/cr_kid_crafts/article/0,,HGTV_3256_3751334,00.html

Here are some pics of some examples other people made using the above instructions: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=128327.0

What I did was...I went to the thrift store and found some old wings that were white. (They were like $1.50) My daughter wanted to be a Dark Angel. Then I went to the 99 cents store and they had some really flimsy black boas there, so I bought some and glued them to the edges of the wings. With the left over boas I made a halo from metal hangers.

You could also use wire hanger. Just shape them into the wing shape and use Nylon to cover it, Add some elastic for your arms and some glitter.

An easy way is to take a wire coat hanger, unbend it, straighten it out, and then rebend it into the shape of wings. You can also buy Armature Wire from most craft stores. It's a heavy aluminium wire that is stiff but can also be bent to hold a shape. From there, take some colored panty hose or net/mesh material and cover the wire to create wings. Spray on some glitter to glam it up.

I've had Buffalo wings that tasted like cardboard!
But if you're looking to make wings for a costume....cardboard is still your best bet.You just have to be creative.Use heavy-duty cardboard.Paint it.Glue cotton balls and sparkles to it.Dress it up!
Go to a craft store and look for other materials that can make your wings look like something other than cardboard.
Use your imagination, and you'll find that you can disguise almost anything!

Paint the cardboard a pretty color and use some glitter on the top. There's also really cool glitter paint you could use too. Have fun!

You chronologically freeze yourself so that through evolution, in 200,000 years you will have sprouted wings!!!

...Might take too long.

You could go to a site with some instructions on how to make them and-- http://www.knitting-and.com/crafts/fancywings.htm Goodness, me! A site popped out of no where! Let's go to it and see if it has anything relevant to do with this particular situation!
