There is no where in the world that is safe from every type of natural disaster. Which ones seem scariest to you? I would focus on avoiding those. For example, I am afraid of drowning. I will stay away from places likely to flood. I also am prone to skin cancer, I will stay away from places too hot and sunny. I have seasonal allergies, I will stay away from places that are too poluted. What is the biggest problem for you?

Northeast. Viginia all the way up to Massachussettes has been very lucky to not have major natural disasters. We get some pretty bad weather, but no category-5 hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.
