1) We provide a lot of non cash services, such as protection. Man y countries, not all of them poor (think Japan) enjoy our protection without having to spend their own money.
2) Americans give more through private channels than others.

Stingy!!!!!! We keep the UN afloat, Have rebuilt Iraq & Afganistan. Sent Billions to Indonesia & other nations for Tsunami relief. Fed the people of Somolia till they killed our people. And we still give more aid than most of the world & still have our own 300 milion to take care of!!! You don't mind if we take care of folk in Moblie or New Orleans before we worry about Haiti or Chad????

Number one..why should we give anything?
Number two who sets what amount of charity we should give?
Number three.....if in debt the best charity is ones bills!

Americans aren't stingy with foreign aid, that's George Bush and the American government. George Bush is the stupidest president yet. It isn't our fault, it is the government. George Bush has spent all of our money trying to dig up oil that he knows isn't there. He let my hometown, New Orleans, be destroyed by Katrina. God, that pisses me off!

Conservative hold the purse strings, that's why. A lot more middle to lower income people reach out but the wealthy and conservatives want to keep what they have.

there are so many americans that need aid help food medicine.id rather the money went to those people. and when are foreign countries gonna send us aid? never. screw foreign aid.

Two reasons. 1. Bush has bankrupted the country and 2. Bush doesn't care about furiners. He and his Cronies are out for themselves and the rest of us be damned.
