It's nice to know that there are wealthy people who know an inequity when they see one and aren't afraid to say so. There are those who donate to charities for the tax breaks and then there are those who do it because they see a need and feel obligated to do so. The world is a considerably greedier place than it used to be; generous acts such as theirs would never have been questioned in the past. I agree with Mr. Buffet; I believe that all of us have a responsibility to help others regardless of our incomes. It's just a matter of scale. And regarding Ted Kennedy, etc......many wealthy individuals create foundations through which their money is used to better lives. I believe there is a Kennedy foundation.

Saw the show; Came away with Mr Buffett being the wiser man of life in general. Bill Gates whom i also respect we are the same age born in 1955 is a master marketer & software expert. He bought the rights from IBM on doss which cut out the nitch he ran with! If they agree on paying higher taxes for the wealthy then there's lots of loop holes that need to be pluged. I did not come away with any new news on how i can become wealthy Mr Buffett said some things that are true & good but this is a highly complex & competative world we live in so a little luck right place right time can go a long ways as it did for Mr. Gates! Oh one thing i have not been able to do is surround myself with enough good people!

Oh I'm sure that the number 1 and Number 2 Big guns in the world know what they are talking about. Look lets just balance the budget and start the flat tax, then everyone would keep up there end of the tax burden. Yes I'm a Dem, and do not like Ole George, but Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are two people that really know how to make money.. I think Id listen to them over bush on money matters..

These two men could probably cover all of the income taxes for middle-to-low class America and not even blink! I understand the theory of a standard rate of taxes across the board, but in actual practice, the wealthy are still consistently paying a less percentage than those of us that are struggling just to make it payday to payday.

I did not see that, so the information is appreciated. I have heard that both Gates and Buffett are humanitarians. They know they have more than enough, and it is interesting and relevant that they acknowledge this flaw in our tax system, which favors the very wealthy. Obviously, the rest of us need a break- many people are struggling and feeling sadness for our children.

blah, blah, blah, that's what clinton, kerry, and teddy kennedy also say along with all the smarter than thou liberals, except they do not practice what they preach, because you are free to write a check to the Federal government for any amount you want above your tax bill,if you feel your tax's are to low,but i bet if you do a little research they haven`t given the federal government one cent extra.its just another attempt to get us to hate the republicans, but ask yourself this,do you think if you had the chance to ask these smarter than thou liberals for help will they give it to you?are you sure?
