What is the best kind of dress for a pageant? color?

i need a dress for a 13 year old girl for a pageant. it will be in nov. i think it should be dark green. she had dark brown hair and dark brown eyes and olive skin. she is very tall for her age and she is wearing heels. updo or wear her hair down?

My favorite color for pageant dresses are light blue, red and white. I was in pageants in my teens. I think those 3 colors leaves more of an impression on the judges.

Dark colors make a girl look more mature, especially at that age. It depends on the look you are going for. I did pageants when I was that age and I remember it being very difficult to find a middle ground. The only way I got around that was try on dress after dress, in different colors. My coach helped some, light pink is a versatile color, good for any season or complexion. A lighter green would probably make her face pop more (not easter green, a mid tone).

Most of that is ambiguous sounding, but with darker skin I would suggest a lighter dress to make her stand out. Don't worry about height, it will depend on what the judge's are looking for and her poise.

Wear hair down with side swept bangs or pull small section in front up and clip with jeweled clip. I think light baby blue is a great pagent dress color because it gives the heir of confidence and leaves an impression for the judjes. Dont wear purple or dark green whatever you do!

I think a long dark green strapless dress would be extremly pretty on the girl you have just described....a navy-blue dress would also look very pretty!

definately dark green, its a great color but make sure its not to plain you want the judges to see you but not think that its tacky. with the hair do what you think is best for her face
