Are you allergic to peanuts? The pores in your scalp are larger than anywhere else on your body, so they would absorb the peanut oil if you put it in your hair. Since your brain is right there, then you would have a worse reaction if you put peanut butter in your hair than if you just ate some. Maybe she's not interested in making your hair grow faster, but wants something else to happen.
Peanut butter has oils and proteins in it and, while it won't make your hair grow faster, smearing it into your hair and leaving it there for a time before rinsing it out can help strengthen your hair. Avoid the chunky variety, however.

Nothing topical works very well. I'm afraid that for hair growth, you'll need to look into more invasive methods of treatment. Start with your dermatologist & go from there, and save the peanut butter for sandwiches.
