Last year propane ran out in mobile home during winter which is located in the mountains as a summer home. Outside water pipes broke because of no heat inside. Propane company is suppose to fill when down to 25% but they failed to do so. Had to relight all pilot lights and food inside cupboards were ruined. Having trouble finding a safe portable space heaters for mobile home. Anyone have any suggestions???? If so where to purchase.

I agree that no heaters left unattended are safe, you would need someone to keep an eye on them or get radiators.

It is possible that you might be able to spend less, simply by not heating the whole mobile home. Another possibility would be to heat portions of it with a 1500 watt electric heater. Check your utility bill and see how much you pay per kilowatt hour. I think it will be less than $.15 per kWh. If the heater ran 24 hours a day the cost would be about half what you are paying for LPG. Be careful though. The electricity may have a two or more stage cost. Sometimes they charge one rate up to a certain amount, then kick up the rate for the rest. Of course, keeping the temperature down a bit helps, as would providing drapes or the like on windows.Of course if you are cooking or heating water with LPG, you will still have some cost there.

my father owned the consessions at a race track in N.H.
and it was closed in the winters. so when the pipes broke
the first year he fixed them.And he had a guy tell him to use
alky i dont remember if it was alkyline but it dont freeze.
so he would go from building to building and disconnect
the artisian well supply line and then open all the faucets
and ice machines etc. and then he would pump the alky in
until the faucets smelled like alky ( you can tell trust me)
once he did that the pipes were safe in the spring he would hook
up the water supply and flush the lines. as for the food
dont store it bring it home. END OF PROBLEM.
I hope this helps. you can flush the toilets til they are alky
too.

I wouldn't think there is a safe space heater. But if you must the best kind are the radiator looking ones with oil in them. They stay warmer longer with out reach high temps. For the pipes try heat tape.

If you drain all water lines you don't have to keep heat in a mobile home. That is safer than an unattended heater.

You might consider electric radiant heating. Any unattended home is a dangerous place to heat. You will want safety features that turn off the heater if it overheats. I would hire someone to check on it.
