Guinea pigs are born with fur and open eyes. They can run around and eat regular food right away. They look like big hamsters.
I once bought a baby guinea pig at a pet store. He was wonderful! He was the tamest and most friendly guinea pig I ever had. It was only years later, when I saw a litter of guinea pigs, that I realized he must have been newborn when I bought him. Amazing.
I advise handling the babies at a young age so they will be more friendly and used to humans.

Go to guinealynx.com for starters. I've never had a female, so good luck. My sister bought a pregnant female and had the joy of watching her eat the babies.
