...Do you send it back? Or just choke it down?
Do you take it out on the server? Or the manager?
How do you handle that?

Actually, I'm a nurse. So this has no direct influence on me. I was just curious.

Mt Love is a restaurant manager, so I'm sure he'll like to see this. But that isn't why I asked...

I'm more interested in general "personality types". Type A. Type B, Passive/aggressive, etc...)

This has been one of the most fascinating studies, yet...

universal rule: never send food back at a restaurant.
just don't eat the food. have a talk with the manager afterwards.
if he's unsympathetic, just don't go back to that establishment and tell all your friends about it.

I send it back, and as long as the server isn't rude there is no reason to go to a manager. There is no reason to be rude either. I used to work in the food service industry and to all you people who are complete jerk to the people that serve you just remember you eat what we make which means we could feed you anything we want. Food service people are some of the hardest working and most underpaid people. That being said is someone doesn’t make something how you want it just be nice about it. You get more with honey than vinegar.

If it's really awful I will politely send it back. If it's obviously the way they normally cook, I will choke it down and never come back. Unless the server is also the cook, there is no point in taking it out on them.

It depends how bad it is...if the food is cold, I might just eat it. If it's something like a hair, or a bug, or the meat is raw...then I'd definitely bring it up with the waiter/waitress. Then I'd go to the their website or call their hot-line and leave a comment there about it also.

If it's extremely bad and I just can't choke it down I would politely mention to the waitress to please take this back to the cook because(whatever the reason) most the time it comes back great and sometimes you even get it free.

just try to eat as much as possible because you don't ever want to send it back. i heard some crazy stories from my friends that work in the restaurant business. just take the way it was given to you the first time and don't return to that place again is my motto

I just don't eat it. I wouldn't say anything in case the cook or waiter gets the craps with me and spits in the food or something like that

If I just don't end up liking it?...no. If it's under or over cooked - or if there is a big ol bug in it or something - yes it goes back...via the manager.
