Lakeland (mail order kitchenware company) make a worktop "polish " which is totally brilliant. It comes in a black aerosol container.

Hot soapy water will get rid of all the greasy smears and then polish it up with a soft ,dry cloth

I use to clean professionally and the only thing I ever found that really worked for my was liquid **** and span rinse then wipe with window cleaner, it shines really nice.

Just use washing up liquid in water, then polish dry with tea towel. Bit stupid to use cleaners when you have to prepare food on them. Remind me never to come to your house for dinner!

wet then dry newspaper its great for widows to. But obviously you need to sterilise it to before hand if it is use for foods.

If you don't mind spending. there is an cleaning agent called isopropall alcohol ( don't know if it is spelt right) good luck and don't forget where you heard this first.........

go to good builders merchsnt and buy a tube of wonder wipes 100% gaurantee that they work i fit them for a living cost about £8.50 for a hundred
