and i read on a reflexology chart that this area rules the lower digestive track....is there a link? Does pain in this area mean that I may have something worong internally? It's like a crampy, muscle pain in my foot....not a sharp pain....it really bothers me when I am walking or jogging....

I get the exact same thing from time to time. As I am a regular long distance runner who also does weights my muscles get overused and tighten. When the calf muscle gets too tight it starts to pull on the attachments in the foot. Thats what causes this pain. If you do a lot of exercise you need to get a regular massage and make sure you stretch after every workout. If you do these two things it should disappear after a few days.

If the pain is mostly when you walk or run, I'd tend to think you have a problem with the foot, not a digestive problem. Getting a reflexology massage can help calm and relax your body but I don't know how much it will help your stomach. If you do a lot of running and/or walking you might have either a muscle or a bone issue in the foot. You can go to a chiropractor thats specialized in extremities. I have two friends who just ran in a marathon this past weekend and they have problems with their feet. I adjusted on of theirs foots and he had a lot of relief. You could have a hairline fracture but I would think it would bother you more often than just when you run and that the pain would be sharper. Good Luck with it!

This sensitive part of your feet problem can be caused by the rubbing of your feet in some type of shoe that you are wearing. Then it could be your socks. Use a little clorox to wash your socks and lotion your feet and dry well and you also can soak your feet as well with some epsom salt.

Reflexology aside you may have broken your fifth metatarsal and should go to a doctor to have it checked out - request an x-ray to be sure.
