I read my horoscope nearly everyday and obviously don't take it too literally but sometimes I can't help notice the similarities between my life and whats written in the stars ... but the latest findings about there being more planets than ever recorded surely changes everything?

Jesus how soppy are you, theres like 12 signs and billions of people, horoscopes are very cleverly written to be ambiguous enough so that the vast majority of people will latch onto something.

Ok so if today my Stars said.......

Aries.. Stay at home today, you only got back from Africa 2 days ago and you still look knackered after the 9 hour drive from Samburu to Nairobi then the 8 1/2 hour flight to Heathrow then the 29 minute flight to Manchester i'd sit up and take notice, what it most likely said was - spend time on you, you've been pushing yourself lately - yes i have up at 5am every morning then out on game drives till 7pm jesus these horoscopes are clever.

Its all a load of old balls.

It just shows what a load of rubbish horoscopes are. How can a planet millions of miles away or a star even further, one a lump of inert rock and the other a ball of burning gas, send 'influences' or 'luck' to creatures they don't know exist (since they can't 'know' anything), pick out individuals who were born at a certain time on a planet revolving at 1,000 mph and travelling in a different direction at 10,000 mph and decide their 'fate'? Don't forget that light travels at 186,000 miles per second and yet can take years to get here from these stars.

Anyone believing in horoscopes of any sort must be a bit short of common sense.

I used to know someone who wrote them for a newspaper. She told me they just make them up, mix them up and pick them out at random.

Makes a mockery of it when they discover a new planet like Pluto in 1931 and then in 2006 decide that it's not one after all. Never mind, it had 75 years to exert it's 'influence'.

For that matter you would think the astronomers could have named another planet after a female god like Athena. One is all they get out of nine. There are moons of the outer planets that are larger than Pluto. Some are named after wives of Jupiter like Io. Do these have any value or are they canceled out?

'Go with the flow' seems to me a good motto for life. If it pleases you and harms nobody to believe your horoscope, then do so. If it bores or irks you, or if it gets in the way of you doing what you would like to do, then ignore it. The same goes for the I Ching, Tarot cards, and, I guess, any other system of trying to understand or bring order to your life, other than simply doing so 'on the fly' as we all generally have to do!

Uh.... do you believe it?

well, sure if there were more planets the SURELY they could have gotten it wrong..

and Pluto was demoted form being a planet right?

Does that mean that everyone's previous horoscopes were wrong then?

Who knows...

i think they r wrong cause if u are a scorpio for e.g. on the horoscope it might say something would happen but then it would mean that it will happen to all scorpio's which is impossible

I doubt seriously it will change anything with the hard core believers. People believe what they want to believe.
