I am Southern...raised in South Alabama. It is a great thing. I guess I am pretty much a southern bell but I also have a lot of country in me. I have lived in all parts of the United States. I have lived in Spokane, Washington,Upstate New York, Virginia, Texas, and of course Bama. And I would have to say other than the definite slower pace of life.....the South is the best. And we are not nearly as hickish as others who have never been to the South make it seem. Rolllllllll Tide.

I am southern and one thing I hear in my travels, southern people have values and respect for others. I found until you get into the big cities, that statement is true. I travel in my work and even people who I know are younger than me, I answer with respect.
Be proud of your southern heritage and hold your head up high. Don't forget your raising.

I am really really really really really south, so far south that is past the Rio Grande..... LOL... And no, there is nothing wrong with being " southern" or being from the southern United States, I have lived and worked in and around the south for most of my life.
The poeple are friendly, the climate nice , and the girls pretty... :)
I have adopted family in Michigain and they are nice, but... There is somthing missing, somthing that I can't really explain, they are more blunt, more quick and to the point. etc...
So, yeah... Nothing wrong with being from the " South"
I don't consider myself from the " south" but... I am kinda a cross.. I consider myself American !!!

Being Southern (or Northern or Western) is fairly immaterial. Some folks really enjoy the accents from the different parts of the country. But there are millions of "southerners"...so you're in good company!!
