I seriously am poor, and I don't want anyone's help. The system we have in place now is fine. We do not need to expand welfare.

Everyone just needs to work harder. I am going back to school to get a better job.

If your happy being poor that's your own choice, Democrats have nothing to do with your own decisions, but I'm sure your just talking Neocon crap-ola on this question anyway.

Good for you I am glad that some republicans are poor .I feel that way to some time's , but everyone I know says I am not poor .I complain all the time about my mortgage my car payment my cell phones I have 2 one that is strictly used for business and the other is my work /personel phone .Then i have drydock fee's and repairs to the boat if it is not one thing its another .From prop's to fuel pumps to changeing the running lights to scraping and painting by the way marine paint runs 80 dollars a gallon so it always something. When its in the water the marina has its charges and a small electric bill each month that we pay individualy .Each slip has its own utility hook up's that we have to have cause some yahoo's park a 90 footer next to some guys 60 footer and has all sorts of parties in the evenings with all the lights on and a couple of chefs aboard ,do not get me wrong here ,the marina is like one big happy family and most people are offered an invite for cocktails . Well back to how poor i am .
The brick wall around the property is in need of some masonary repairs and the front gate has trouble from time to tine and a service call and repairs can run 700-1000 bucks easy . One time the inground sensor failed and needed to be fixed that was 4000 bucks .Hell on average i can spend close to 30,000 dollars just keeping up with the house and boat and then the little lake house always need some thing to the tune of 600 dollas a year or so .Roof patch or well problems its always something so I know what it is like to be poor .Some of the time I have to do my own repairs to save some money .My neighbors and friends think I am tight with a dollar but it is because I am poor .Lucky for me we only have one child and he is in college right now .The lucky part is he was not ivy league material and dad here is just a hard working builder so state university is saving me a small fortune but still the 30 year I do pay sure takes alot of the old bank accounts .
I had to sell some stocks and in a year i can cash in some bonds without having to pay a penelty .
Well enough about me complaining about how ruff it is on us poor work stiffs .I hope that education thing pans out for you . Cause hard work and know how is the only thing besides a family that leaves you a couple of million bucks .
That reminds me I do have to pay dad back that 500,000 I barrowed when i bought that property 3 weeks ago from a guy who almost went bankrupt but I saved his butt .He can use the 200,000 dollar loss as a tax write off .And when I build on it in six months or a year from now He can drive by and see what a guy with vision can do to a good piece of land .
I figure some real cheap apartments for the poor will look just fine .

You are also apparently a masochist. Hard work is a GOOD thing. Now just hope your chance to do that isn't exported to China as you pull the lever for Repukes. Will your taxes go up to cover the gap created by the abolishion of the estate tax and wars of conquest, or just shoveled into a higher mountain of debt for your great grand children to pay?... if indeed the USA is not unremembered legend long before then. Worry about whether your vote will be counted at ALL if the Dumbya Coup was allowed to continue. Down with Dictator Dumbya!!!

Don't want to go from being poor to living in a ditch, huh?

Me neither.

Poor, proud Republican. I sleep very well at night. Put a price on that!

Don't listen to RhinoJoe: That rhetoric is poison to America!

They don't want to help us Republicans. We are too wealthy and powerful. They only want to help themselves. Welfare is a ploy. If they hand out enough money people become dependent. After a while this dependency ensures their party more votes.

They think that, since you are poor, you are also stupid & therefore can't survive without their munifisince. Of course that munifisence doesn't come out of THEIR pockets, they're only generous with other people's money.

Good going! People like you are what made this a great country. People who don't have your drive are taking away from it's greatness though.

I don't think the welfare system was designed to help you anyway. The original notion of welfare was to assist the children of the disadvantaged, not adult poor. Why would anyone want to hand out money to someone just because they are poor? The idea of America is to put opportunity in front of those people capable of grasping on to it.
