In Japan there are two types of people, foreigners and then the Japanese- within the Japanese groups there are two types, northerners and southerners and the differentiate them by types of ear wax- crusty or oily. No joke!
Respect and working with the group is honored above all- Individual gain and fame are to be set aside or abolished in favor of the advancement of the group.
They have kick **** Karaoke rooms everywhere that are a ton of fun to patronize with your friends...
Japanese baseball is played similarly to American baseball but they have different rules: ex: the batters box changes location and size dependent on the batters height and batting ability. They can and will call a home run a ground rule double if one team is winning too much or receiving more attention than the opposing team- it's all about the group as a whole succeeding and grandstanding or showing off is looked down upon.
Just some random stuff I've learned from Anthropology and Sociology classes...
