Honey, if you are 20, why are you still acting like a child?
move out on your own, BE an adult, and then you will have all the privileges AND responsibilities of an adult!.

Sometimes parents have a hard time letting go of their children. If you have proved yourself to be a responsible adult (i.e. you either have a full time job or you are a full time student getting good grades), are respectful to your parents, are responsible around the house, and they are still treating you as if you were 5, then I would have a talk with them. Explain that you are sure you will feel protective toward your children too, but that you are an adult and need a bit more freedom than they seem to be giving you. IF you are non-judgmental and listen, I am sure they will respond positively.

They may be trying to protect you. Have you given them any reason to question your judgement? Is it a religon doctrine? Some don't want woman going out until married or chaparoned. Have you proven that you are responsible? Are they paying for your life? Ask your self these questions, answer them honestly... and you probably already have your answer. If you are still unhappy and don't understand.... if you are living in thier home and they are paying your way.... live with it, or get a job, move out and live your life the way you want to. Just a reminder..... at 20 you may think you do, but you don't know everything... chances are, even if you don't like it, your parents are right-they probably just love you.

First of all if you live in your parents house you must still go by their rules not matter how old you are. If you are not asking them for the money to go then i have no clue why they would say NO to you since you are 20 years old. Do you have a job, if so why dont you and your bf get your own place then you dont have to listen to anybodys rules but your own!!!!

There is an old saying, " as long as you put your feet under my table, eat my food, and sleep under my roof, you will play by my rules."

Parents will always try to tell you or direct you all the rest of your life. They don't want you to go and make a mistake or mess up. I have always been one to " learn from other peoples mistakes" so I don't have to go thru the same learning curve.

When I was 18, I though I knew everything and was smarter than my parents. After a tour in South Viet Nam, I learned I wasn't as smart as I thought I was., It was very humbling.

well, y do u listen to them? u r an adult. u can do watever u want to do. If u still live with them, move out and live with your bf or another friend. U r old enough to make your own decisions and u have to teach them that by making your own decisions and proving to them that u r responsible enough to do so.
