As I have posted elsewhere, the vast, vast majority of "vegetarians" are no such thing: they are non-meat eaters, and it is NOT the same. Eggs, milk, cheese, honey, yoghurt and their derivatives are NOT vegetables and cannot form any part of a true vegetarian diet. It doesn't matter if the pompous, holier-than-thou tree-hugging hairy-armpit brigade don't want that to be true.

Complete nutters? Oh yes. Vegetarians? Nope. If they were true vegetarians they'd be dead - no plant on earth contains a single usable molecule of vitamin B12 or cholesterol, and both (believe it or not) are essential to life.

So, bollocks to the lot of 'em. Quorn bollocks, of course.

We all choose what we eat out of our own free wills and most of our choices are very irrational. If you really think about it, things we commonly consume are not at all good for you and makes no logical choice why we even consider eating them.

For example, soft drinks. There is no quality in which why it is a good choice. Plain water would be a far better choice. Most of junk-foods, also, makes no sense why we even eat them. Too high in fat, too high in salt, no neutrients what-so-ever.

Did you know you should not be eating more than 4 to 6 oz of meat a day, according to the scientists? Who eats that little? I can eat twice that easily in one sitting.

Seeing from all this prospective, vegetarian choices are not any more "odd" than choices we all make.

Let's expand this discussions a bit.... what kind hobby do you have? Can you explain why it is a good thing to do (whatever it is) based on econimical, social, or any tangiable qualities? I bet you can't.

You are not so logical and normal after all..... Then by your own definition, you are one of the "nutters."

You should try and get out more!
People just make choices about things.
It does not make them nutty
The only thing I would say about choice centred people like non smokers or perhaps vegetarians is how they can sometimes go on a bit about it. I was in a non smoking pub recently with some non smoking friends and they just went on about how vile the smell of smoke is. No smoking pub. No smoker anywhere near.
So why not just get on with it and enjoy?

Sometimes veggies can get a bit like that. But that is not being nutty.
Anyway try a trip on the underground any day. Now there is where you will find nutters

Yes - my husband says to everyone he is a vegetarian and we have to make sure there is veggie food on the menu when we go out. BUT he eats sausages, beefburgers and KFC as well (but only this), he says he does not like the texture of meat in his mouth like steak, chicken (other than KFC), lamb, beef (except burgers), pork (except sauages). See that is an example that he is either completely nutty or totally thick when it comes to knowing what "vegetarian" actually means. I would actually call this a crapetrarian diet if you ask me.

In the sense they eat roasted nuts a lot. I lived with some for a time and they were very human and even had a sense of humour.
The famous Kellogg's company was started by a veggie. Did you ever have cereals for breakfast - you are partly a veggie if you have. In the philippines it is nearly impossible to be a veggie, All meals are meat based and a vegeterain resturant is a place thats sells meat with vegtables!

One of my ex-boyfriends was a veggie and he always looked so pale and lethargic. I always wanted to keep giving him pork pies or something! He hardly ever had any energy and he was quite skinny too. Mind you, I suffer with IBS and I tried a vegetarian diet for about a year and I found it really helped my digestive system. However, I got swayed back again to meat by someone sitting opposite me in the staff room at work eating a really yummy smelling piece of juicy steak and I never looked back! It annoys me though when people try and force their beliefs about animal cruelty and all that onto others to try and convert them. I think eating meat is natural and I don't expect to be made to feel guilty because I enjoy eating it. I don't give a toss if others don't eat meat so why should they give a toss that I do? Veggies - leave us carnivores alone!

No, you obviously don't know the right kind of people. Maybe full of nuts, but not nutters.

That depends. Are all people who don't eat fish complete nutters? What about people who don't eat spinach? People who don't eat sweets? How about people who don't eat grass, or plywood? Are they nutters too?
