Republicans seem to have the idea that all poor people are poor due to their own fault. They refuse to accept the fact that sometimes bad things happen to good people, and want to blame the poor and/or homeless for the situation they are in, rather than looking deeper in order to see the root cause in each particular case.

Trick or Treat - I'm guessing you don't know any Republicans period!
Spackler – Enron, WorldCom and the like's illegal practices flourished in the 90s - who was President then?
Zeebya – Sounds like a lot of psychobabble to me. Oh it’s not their fault, their mother was a drunk, their father beat them, their priest sold them drugs. It’s NEVER their fault. Listen to Leogirl08 – Republicans want to get people off welfare, not keep them dependent on the government.

There are PLENTY of private social service organizations, churches and other non-profit institutions that help millions of people EVERY day. Government control of these services is inefficient on a good day – completely inept on a bad one. Let people keep the tax money and donate it instead to worthwhile organizations that actually help these people find jobs and gain skills to help them up, not keep them down.

Every study of Americans that give to charity proves that “red states” give more to charities (as a percentage of their income) than “blue states.” The “Generosity Index” ranks the states based on how much they give relative to how much they have. It uses IRS data, the only data frequently and freely available that include both income and charitable giving. Of the top ten – ALL RED STATES – Mississippi, Arkansas, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Utah, South Carolina and West Virginia. Of the bottom ten, the least charitable – NINE BLUE STATES – Illinois, Michigan, Hawaii, Colorado (the lone red state at the bottom), Minnesota, Connecticut, Wisconsin, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

They do. Some of them have been there, in the slums. On the streets. Out in the countryside. Not all Republicans are born of wealth and riches. Some have scraped and clawed their ways up from the bottom, and want to protect what they earned with nobody else's help. Nobody cares for them, so why should they care for anyone else?

Says who? We donate a lot of money to charity. We have people here collecting on the streets to help homeless people and drug addicts. I always give them money. We are charitable people. We can't help everyone, but we help who we can. I am a Republican but not so sure how I'll vote in the upcoming election. I look at the canidates record. Of course poor people have feelings. We are all humans regardless of our political party.

All rich people aren't Reps (see Soros, George).
All poor people aren't Dems.
What gives you the idea that Reps don't think poor people have feelings. Lay off the Lib Koolaid.

We know everyone has feelings, we just don't care what they feel. Its not our problem. Do poor people not realize republicans have feelings? Its not mine, yours, or anyone else's duty in this world to make sure everyone feels good. Thats insaine if you actually believe this. I shouldn't ever have to care what other people feel, and believe me, I dont

Where do you get this? I'm sorry but back up your comment or question with something. This has become quite a habit of liberals, just throw s**t at the wall and hope it sticks. Just out of curiosity, tell us how we can show we care, would you? Oh, and don't show us the usual list of liberal websites.

They know.
Most Republicans grew up poor. But they got jobs and improved their lives. They worked hard, saved and invested.
Democrats, on the other hand, just draw welfare, hate, and have their feelings hurt.

Now this is a goofy statement if I ever heard one. Of course we know poor people have feelings. Why do you think we want to give them a hand up and not a hand out. We want these people to realize their true potential and become what ever they are going to become. We want them to have pride in themselves. Why do you want to take that away from them?
