I just got the ipod video off an ebay seller, and it works great, my only concern is that the battery must be old or something cause it only lasts for about 2 hours even listening to music.

I was going to take it to a nearby apple store to get a battery and was wondering if i can get the "New" ipod video battery, the one that lasts longer, put into my older ipod video, will that work? I heard that they were the same except the new ones have a different screen and obviously a new battery.

Any help would be most appreciated.

you can't get replacement batteries from the apple store. However, the battery is replaceable. Here's a site that sells them

i'm a Zune proprietor and characteristic acquaintances with Ipod touches, so i can not furnish lots pointers on the Ipod. The Zune HD's mechanics are precisely the comparable as an ipod touches however the computer screen is a few million/2 inch smaller. Zunes utility is extra laptop friendly as adversarial o the Ipod that's extra Mac orientated Zune had much less apps, yet they're loose and there are songs that Zune presently does no longer have. the only real draw back is which you cant upload your individual video clips without finding out to purchase a application to alter the video clips utility Zune friendly. you additionally can hook it up inclusive of your Xbox 360, they're the two Microsoft. wish this facilitates.

The new battery should work just fine. As for "just going to the store to get a new one," good luck. You may wind up shipping it out to have the battery replaced. I had to have a scrren replaced and the stores told me they don't service out of warranty ipods. You can do it yourself, but it can be involved.

hmmmm, I dont know about ipod videos, but i took my ipod mini (which had a warranty on it) back to the store because the battery life was less than an hour, told them what was wrong( and complained a bit too ;) , and they gave me a brand new one. (that was about three weeks before they stopped selling the minis)
