A diamond is good, but don't forget to include some life form... or a double helix of DNA is maybe the best. Diamonds are not the most important aspects of the element carbon, I guess :)
That's it, the Double Helix, the molecule of Life, winding around a diamond :D
I hope I'm not the only one who likes my ideas :P

You could do a buckyball , maybe against a graphite layer.
